My mission was accomplished last Sunday 10th of September, 2023 at the VinFast World Championship Ironman 2023, for the first time held in France, Nice. There is no words that can describe the feeling I have right now and I wish it for everyone.
We finally made it… Thanking my family, my wife y kids who has been around me in good times and bad.
The journey is always an interested one, alike a roller coaster. It feels that I’ve felt down so many times on this search for the slot to the World Games, but today I I can say I am a world champion ironman finisher. The game is real out there, especially when you have to toggle between work, trainings & family… In the rat race, time definitely passes by very quickly and when fatigue starts building up it’s a mental war. All in all I am blessed with a rocking family who supports me, sponsors who are there for the traveling/nutrition/bike accessories & friends who are there filling my cup with positive messages. To me it’s a matter of believing in myself & put all my faith in God, staying calm, pushing through, accepting the downfalls and overcoming daily obstacles in life is my key.
This alignment transcended into my dream crossing the Ironman World Champion finish line in Nice. I am amongst the 50% of men in my age category (158-320) & (797-2,002) all men participating.
The South French platform has been the most technical and hardest course I’ve ever raced. To me it is a game changer knowing how much power/watts I have in my legs & climbing 8000ft bike course with steep drops, sharp turns, and high adrenaline mileage of continuous speeding, following a hot marathon.
This race has opened my eyes once more & motivated me not to give up racing Ironman. I feel I still have some bullets in, and to hold on to a healthy lifestyle in training my entire body to be ready for anything in life. There are guys out there as youngest as 18-year-old triathlete and eldest as 79-years-old who inspires me to push through.
At the moment there is one more race that I will attend – Aruba Long Distance triathlon organized by Sports4u – 2k swim 80bike 20run. It’s always great to race on your own turf.
After it I will have a time out for a year to finish some pending home & business projects – spent some quality times with the family especially the kids. I feel they are outgrowing me real fast.
But to me Hawaii Kona is the end product because, there’s a calling in my soul to that special platform where the test to endure is similar to where we come from.
As I look back at the process since 2015 where I did my first Ironman in Texas, the Woodlands, I realize that I’m a better human machine enduring more efficiently.
I’ve learned so much from this last Ironman traveling to Europe, experiencing life in a futuristic from where everything and anything’s is possible. You don’t know anyone but it’s like you know everyone and they are there to help you pass through the matrix.
Triathlon Ironman has giving me the right tools in life for keep growing in mind body & soul.
It’s an honor to represent my sponsors where today racing is possible!
